Burglars have stolen 26 deactivated antique pocket pistols during a break-in at a house in Saxstead.

The burglary took place at a home in Dennington Road yesterday afternoon, between 1.45pm and 5.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “The home was broken into and a search made before the antique pistols – including flintlocks and Second World War weapons - were taken from a display case. “Police are asking anyone who may have been area between these times or anyone who may have been offered similar pistols for sale since to come forward.”

If you have any information about the incident, who stole the items or where they are now call Detective Constable Ewing at Suffolk Coastal CID on 101.
