All her six brothers and sisters have found owners - but nobody wants Willow the “ugly” kitten. Could you give her a home?

Nine-week-old Willow has been rescued after a sad start in life, and is now doing well, but needs someone to love her and give her a forever home.

Cat lover Georgie, from the Woodbridge area, was asked to help by Cats Protection after they became aware of a family of cats in Suffolk in desperate need of help.

“I took an emaciated mother cat and her seven starving kittens from a house in Suffolk,” she said. “They were in the most appalling state. The kittens were alive with fleas and worms, and had been fed cheap dried adult food.

“We thought the mother might not make it. She was pregnant again, and was so thin and full of worms that she wouldn’t have survived the next pregnancy.”

A cattery agreed to take the cat and kittens in, and they have all received the care they needed. “The cattery was marvellous,” Georgie said. “We have found three fantastic homes which are taking two kittens each, and we have now found a wonderful home for the mother.

“But so far nobody has wanted this little kitten, Willow. I think she is beautiful, but we have had comments that she has got strange markings on her face and looks ugly.”

A good temporary home has been found for the kitten so that she won’t have to stay in the cattery on her own, but the people looking after her are unable to keep her permanently.

Could you offer Willow the forever home she needs? The new owner will need to have enough time and energy to look after a young kitten, and to be an experienced cat owner. Willow needs a safe garden, and for there to be someone in the house during the daytime so she can be looked after and fed regularly.

She also can’t live with children younger than five, as very small children can be rough with kittens. A home check will be carried out before the homing is arranged, and the owner will also need to have the kitten neutered at five months, vaccinated and microchipped.
