Sex shop launches licence bid

An established business which describes itself as East Anglia's leading adult store has applied to renew its licence as a sex establishment.

An established business which describes itself as East Anglia's leading adult store has applied to renew its licence as a sex establishment.

Absolookley Adult was set up in Thetford in 2006 as a hub of the Chown family-run business, selling and distributing pornography lingerie and adult toys.

Since then it has had its licence renewed every year. The premises, in Brunel Way, are leased from Breckland Council.

The renewal application form states the firm had a turnover of �200,000 in the past 12 months, but expected it to be �100,000 in the next 12 months.

Opening hours would continue as Monday to Saturday 9.30am- 9pm and the windows would remain obscured.

The director is Peter Chown, from Wisbech, previously a self-employed engineer.
