Nathan Ramsey, of Turners Hyundai, explains why the Suffolk Show is such a great event for car-buyers.

Once again Suffolk Show time is back with us next Wednesday and Thursday. Time waits for no one and it seems only a recent memory thinking back to June last year and the unfortunate weather we had.

The amount of effort that actually goes into putting together just one trade stand would I’m sure surprise you. Multiply that by however many exhibitors are presenting their businesses and you’ll understand that tens of thousands of hours are invested into an event like this.

Then you begin to consider the financial spend of the exhibitors to be there, then add the retail spend of thousands of visitors passing through the gates. This event is a major one and absolutely critical to our local economy. If you have a product to sell, why wouldn’t you want to be there?

So why take the time to look around a car dealer’s stand? Clearly if you’re in the market for a new car then your interest is there already. It’s a great opportunity to compare cars from a variety of manufacturers at your leisure. It really helps being able to compare cars against each other at more or less the same time.

There’s so much choice in the marketplace now and it’s usual for buyers to look at cars over a number of weeks to find something that appeals. It’s certainly not uncommon for buyers to then become confused at what they had seen three weeks ago, what equipment did that car have last week, how much did that second dealer offer me for my part exchange?

Why not do it all in day with the family? Grab an ice-cream while the kids look, give them a break on the fairground before moving to the next stand. Surely that beats them getting bored plodding round showrooms for the next four Saturdays!

And what if you’re not in the market for car? Well, not now but perhaps next year. It’s amazing how many people come into the showroom and say they saw us at the Suffolk Show, maybe even 11 months ago. For the same reasons, give the car dealers a look. You might even surprise yourself by seeing something that grabs you, the deal is great, the monthly payment is good and the car looks awesome.

Finally, I just want to say that the deals we have on show days save you money. They are not deals which we would do back at the showroom.

Most manufacturers provide the dealers with extra bonuses for events like this in order to sell more cars. Come and have chat with us on Stand 608 – if nothing else, you’ll get a free coffee.
