More than 100 people have signed up to a walk in Sudbury to help support families living with dementia.

Sudbury Memory Walk is taking place on October 6, starting and finishing at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre.

Jerry Thatcher has dedicated it to his mother Kate, who had dementia and died aged 100 just before the first walk in 2016.

Tracey Loynds, chief executive for South Suffolk Leisure said: “Working with Jerry on the Sudbury Memory Walk has been so rewarding. As ever Care UK and Babergh District Council have played a huge part in making both this year and last year a huge success.”

People can choose to walk one, three or five miles, or just half a mile.

People are invited to share their memories of loved ones past and present on a memory tree at Kingfisher Leisure Centre.
