SIX people have been arrested at West Meadows on the outskirts of Ipswich today after police received reports of a disturbance.

A strong police presence was sent to the site, which is opposite Asda in Goddard Road.

Officers received a call alerting them to the incident at around 9am.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said one person was originally arrested on suspicion of affray.

However, given that the disturbance was thought to have involved a larger number of people five further arrests were made.

All those arrested are now in custody on suspicion of violent disorder.
