TODDLERS at a nursery were evacuated from the site this morning after a small fire broke out.
The fire started in a light fitting at the Just Learning Nursery in Kestrel Drive, Cedars Park, near Stowmarket, at about 7.40am and all staff and children were taken outside as a precaution.
Nursery Manager Karen Abram said the evacuation was part of a robust set of procedures that are in place and the drama was over very quickly.
She said: “Everyone was completely safe and we only had a couple of children in at the time. It's Children in Need today and we're supposed to be doing something different - and that's what we did this morning.”
Fire crews from Needham Market and Stowmarket were sent to the scene and the incident was closed at about 8.15am with everything returning to normal.
