Southwold brewer Adnams has reintroduced its limited edition beer Prop Hop to coincide with the start of this year’s Six Nations rugby championship.

Sales of Prop Hop, which was first released last August ahead of the Rugby World Cup, will again raise money for the Matt Hampson Foundation, the charity formed by former rugby prop forward Matt Hampson.

The foundaton provides support and treatment to people who have suffered serious injury or disability, particularly those who sustained their injuries while engaged in sporting activity.

Matt Hampson launched the charity after becoming a quadriplegic following an accident during an England Under 21 rugby training session in 2005.

Fergus Fitzgerald, head brewer at Adnams, said: “We are delighted to be working with former England prop Matt Hampson once again and we will continue to donate a proportion of the beer sales to his foundation, so that the charity can continue to grow and provide crucial support to so many.”

He added: “This golden 4% bitter is quintessentially British and has been brewed with a carefully selection variety of English hops including Endeavour, plus barley and pale rye malt.”

Matt Hampson said: ““Last year, Prop Hop was a hit with beer lovers during the 2015 Rugby World Cup and it helped to raise funds for the foundation. We hope that it will be as popular this year and will continue to raise awareness of the work we do.”

Prop Hop will be available in cask from selected outlets and also in mini casks online at adnams.co.uk and in Adnams stores.
