Southwold: Fire crews returning from training exercise sent out to large fire

THREE fire crews returning from a training exercise have tonight been diverted after a “large fire” was reported near Southwold.

The fire service received a call to a “large fire” seen in the open from Lowestoft Rd, Reydon , near Southwold at about 9.30pm and crews from Southwold, and Felixstowe, who were passing the area as they returned from an exercise were sent to the incident.

A service spokesman told how the crews “had to overcome considerable difficulties” getting to the scene, where they found a large shed ablaze. A futher crew, from Wrentham, was called in tgo help at 10.13pm.

All three crews remain at the scene fighting the fire.
