Staff on the St Oysth Priory Ward at Clacton Community Hospital helped to arrange a very special wedding.
Charlie Pullen and Jade Davies-Lowton from Clacton got married on the ward in a ceremony conducted by Reverend Pauline Scott.
Charlie’s father, Gary, was a patient on the ward at the time and it was his dying wish ot be the best man at his son’s wedding.
Kerry-May Surtees, integrated care manager for community hospitals at Anglian Community Enterprise, said: “The staff on the ward worked exceptionally hard to support the family in arranging this wedding. It was a beautiful occasion attended by close family and friends and everyone was delighted that Gary was able to carry out his dying wish.
“Sadly, Gary passed away two days after the wedding but I know his family will remember the ceremony with great fondness and we were very pleased to have helped make it possible.”
