More than £1,000 was raised for the East Anglian Air Ambulance at Stoke-by Nayland’s Christmas Fair on Saturday.
Held in the village hall, the event featured an array of stalls selling a range of gifts including ceramics, upholstered furniture, Christmas wreaths and flowers, art, jewellery and textiles. There was also a selection of food on sale including Christmas cakes and puddings, confectionary, smoked fish and ham.
Organiser, John Prescott, said around 250 people came through the door.
He said: “The event is always well-supported and people enjoy the nice atmosphere of the event. Money is raised on the door and through stall holders paying for their pitch. We also had a large cake stand where all proceeds went to the charity.
“We’ve supported St Helena’s Hospice in Colchester for the past three years, so we thought we’d have a change this year. In all we’ve raised £1,100 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.”
