Ambitious community groups in Stowmarket can apply for £7,500 worth of council grants – designed to give a boost to a diverse range of local projects.
The Stowmarket Town Council annual grants scheme provides grants of up to £500 for projects and initiatives that will benefit the residents of Stowmarket.
In previous years, the scheme has provided start-up funding for the Stowmarket Stars Majorette Troupe, an outside defibrillator for the Chilton Fields Sports Clubs and outdoor play equipment for St Peters and St Marys Pre-school.
Ali Huggins, Stowmarket Stars Majorette Club Troupe Leader, said: “The grant from the Town Council has made my dream of starting a majorette troupe a reality. It has made such a difference and the troupe is going from strength to strength.”
Groups have until Friday, October 19 to apply for the funding. Application packs are available to download at www.stowmarket.org or groups can contact Stephanie Edmans on 01449 612060 or further information.
