Orphans in Africa will be able to put on their favourite football shirts from some of the biggest clubs in the world thanks to the work of a Suffolk project.
Dozens of football shirts have been donated by families and children in the Stowmarket and Debenham areas for children living in the town of Nanyuki, Kenya.
Emma Rowland, 43, a teacher at Wood Ley Community Primary School in Stowmarket and her sister, Claire Harrison, who works at Debenham High School have helped to organise the initiative.
They have family based at the British Army training centre, Batuk, which is based in the east African town.
The shirts will used by the children in a football match which the Army personnel at the base help to arrange.
A Christmas meal for the orphans, many of whom have lost their parents to AIDS, is also being served. The children, whose ages range from newborns to 18, will also receive Christmas presents.
