The Lions Club of Stowmarket & District has been invited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its international parent charity at Buckingham Palace next week.
Lion Chris Philpot will be representing the Stowmarket branch of the community charity at the Centenary Reception on February 28, together with members from across the British Isles and the organisations’ charity partners.
The reception will be hosted by the Lions’ Patron, HRH, The Countess of Wessex.
The Stowmarket branch is part of Lions Clubs International, made up of 1.4m members in over 200 countries around the world.
As the largest service club organisation worldwide, Lions Clubs International supports major projects addressing a number of global issues – from diabetes, the environment and hunger relief to childhood cancer and sight issues.
