A group of classic car owners revved their engines for a family fun day in aid of Church funding.

Dozens of vintage vehicles lined the Riverside Centre in Stratford St Andrew, just south of Saxmundham on the A12.

There were also stalls, games, sideshows, tea and cake for people to enjoy.

The event was attended by members of Alde Valley Classics and raised money for the Alde Valley Church Benefice.

Despite miserable weather, people were not put off having a good time and raising about £1,000 in the process.

One of the organising team, Nick Boulter, said: “We adapted the event so that most of the activities could take place inside.

“The income was about half what we raised last year but people were not put off by the weather. It was all enjoyed in good spirit and humour despite the rain.

“The classic car owners still had the chance to walk around and talk to each other.”

About 60 classic cars turned out for the event, including a vintage Rolls Royce.
