A MOTORIST died when his car smashed into the middle of a roundabout after he apparently suffered a heart attack at the wheel.
The man, believed to be from the Sudbury area and in his 50s, died at the scene of this morning's crash - which took place at Newton Road. Sudbury, just after 11am.
Diversions were expected to be in place until late afternoon as police investigated the scene of the single vehicle accident.
Sgt Chris Fiske, of Bury St Edmunds road policing unit, said: “We have begun investigating the accident in a bid to determine how the man's vehicle had gone up the roundabout.”
A post mortem on the man will be carried out in due course while police said the deceased would not be identified until all next of kin was informed.
