Choirs from across the county raised more than £1,500 for a guide dog charity after various concert performances.

The money was raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind in concerts by the VivaVoices community choirs in Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Wymondham in July and August.

The choirs performed a mix of songs from across the decades and managed to raise £1,600 for the charity.

Graeme Hopson, choir leader, said: “With almost two million people in the UK living with sight loss, I’m delighted that my choirs raised such an amazing amount for Guide Dogs.

“I’m always touched by the generosity and support of our choir members and their friends and families.”

VivaVoices meet on Mondays from 7.30-9.00pm at Stowmarket United Reformed Church and rehearsals start on September 18 and 19.
