Suffolk Coastal: Spate of burglaries in towns along coastal district

There has been a spate of recent home burglaries in the Suffolk Coastal area.
The crimes over the past week have included the theft of cash, three handbags, a grey Panasonic camera and items of silverware including silver boxes, cutlery, jugs, salt and pepper shakers, ashtrays, dishes, a silver tray and goblet set and a tea caddy following a break-in at a home at Wentworth Road, Aldeburgh, between 11pm on Tuesday, May 27, and 7.45am on Wednesday, May 28. A large brown drawer from a sideboard was also taken.
An attempted burglary occurred at a home in Cullcott Close, in Yoxford, around 3am on Wednesday, May 28. The residents at the property awoke and it is thought this disturbed the burglar or burglars before they got into the house, although damage was caused to a window in the attempt to get in.
There was also break-in at a home on the A1120 Saxtead Road in Dennington between Tuesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 29. Entry was gained via the back of the home but it appears nothing was stolen.
A home at The Street in Earl Soham was broken into at some point between Sunday, May 25, and Thursday, May 29. Again nothing appears to have been stolen.
And there were two incidents at homes in Snape. Between 8am on Thursday, May 29, and 12.30pm on Friday, May 30, someone broke into a property in Church Road and stole a 40-inch black Samsung TV and a wireless weather station. At around 10.30pm on Thursday, May 29, another home in Main Road was broken into. At this stage it appears nothing was taken.
Police are investigating these incidents and are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in these areas around the relevant times to contact Suffolk Coastal CID by dialling 101.

Officers are also urging residents to be vigilant and are asking you to call police using 999 if you see something unusual near homes and suspect a crime may be in progress, no matter what the time of day or night.
