As the nation prepares to roar the Three Lions to victory this afternoon, a community in Bury St Edmunds is proudly showing its support for the England team.
Houses on the Moreton Hall estate are decked in flags ahead of the crunch World Cup quarter final, with Gareth Southgate’s men hoping to reach England’s first semi-final since 1990.
Moreton Hall residents Mark and Donna Crake, and their two children, George, 13, and Sam, 11, have decorated their garden with flags and a World Cup bear and say the estate is brimming with World Cup fever.
Donna, 40, said: “I think it’s good to get behind the team and we’ve already talked about having a street party if they reach the final.
“The kids love it and we’ve been having a bit of fun with our neighbours over the road trying to outdo each other.
“The estate is renowned for it, and it’s just really nice that people have shown that community spirit.”
Mark, 50, said: “The response has been really positive. We’ve had a few cheers from people walking by.
“Our next door neighbour has a goal in his garden and everyone has got into the spirit.”
So how will the Three Lions fare against Sweden?
Mark said: “I’m going for 2-1 to England and I think it will be an England v Belgium final.”
Donna also plumped for an England win: “I’ve got to be positive but I think it will be close so I’ll say 1-0,” she said.
“But I think if you give Sweden the chances that Colombia had in the last game, then they will take them.”
The couple said they will be watching the game at the Moreton Hall Community Centre and will be hoping to cheering the Three Lions to a famous victory.

England have met Sweden twice before in the World Cup, with both matches in the group stages of the competition in 2002 and 2006 ending in a draw.
