A fraudulent car sales manager who was jailed earlier this year was ordered to repay £38,000.

David Garrett, 36, of Goldfinch Drive, Attleborough, had been working as a trade sales manager at Hammonds Car Sales in Ipswich when he was involved in a ten month fraud involving 67 part-exchange vehicles amounting to £343,000. Garrett is currently facing a 40 month prison sentence but this week was also told he needs to pay Hammonds £38,225 as compensation.

A Stowmarket man who carried out a ferocious attack on a 15-year-old boy at a playground was jailed for nine years.

Joshua Williams, 22, of Kent Road, Stowmarket, left a 15-year-old by unconscious and covered in blood after he attacked him from behind and repeatedly kicked him in the face. The schoolboy was left with fractures to the bones under both eyes and to his nose - he had to have surgery to repair the damage.Jailing Williams was Judge Rupert Overbury who described the assault as “ferocious, sustained, pre-meditated and unprovoked.”

A robber who exploited and preyed on elderly was jailed for 20 months.

Sonny Ball, 24, of no fixed abode, went on a three year crime spree targeting women’s handbags. His victims were all aged between 50-70 years-old, one suffered minor injuries to her right knee, hip, ankle and elbow.
