A man was taken to hospital with neck pain following a crash near Ipswich town centre today.

The collision involving a Ford Transit van and a Vauxhall Zafira car happened around 11.30am in St Margaret’s Green, just outside Piper’s Court.

An ambulance crew was rushed to the scene and treated a man for neck pain.

The motorist was taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.

Three fire crews – one from Ipswich East and two from Ipswich Princes Street – also attended due to fears a driver may be trapped in a vehicle, but no-one was believed to have been rescued.
