Eight pupils from the Bawdsey CEVCP School attended the Lego League South of England competition at Dunton near Basildon.

As part of the competition pupils had to give a number of presentations on topics like robot design, hydro dynamics and core values with competitors coming from both primary and high schools.

The children’s robot also had to take part in specially created missions.

The Bawdsey pupils’ robot was able to complete the most missions and earned the school the Robot Performance Prize.

The school also received a highly commended award for their core values presentation.

Headteacher Katie Butler said: “I am extremely proud of our Bawdsey school pupils who showcase their talents at big national events and who come from a small but amazing rural school.”
