Rail services on the East Suffolk line were cancelled today after a signalman fell ill.
Network Rail was unable to find a replacement signalman for the box at Saxmundham until late morning. Services were able to restart from about 11am.
Passengers from Saxmundham and Woodbridge had been able to use First Eastern Counties buses and passengers from Lowestoft to Ipswich were advised to travel via Norwich.
A message on Greater Anglia’s website said: “We are sorry if your travel plans are affected by this problem and thank you for you patience and understanding.”
