Two people have been taken to hospital after a two car crash on the B1029 between Great Bromley and Ardleigh, Essex.

The East of England ambulance Service (EEAST) were called at 8.55am this morning to a serious two vehicle crash on the B1029 towards Ardleigh.

An air ambulance from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust, two land ambulances and an ambulance officer were sent to the scene, near to the junction with Colchester Road.

At the scene, crews treated two patients. One was taken to Colchester General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The other, the driver of one of the vehicles, is believed to have suffered a serious medical episode. They were treated by crews before also being taken to Colchester General Hospital by land ambulance.

It is not known how serious the condition of the driver is.

Essex Police have been contacted for more information. According to AA traffic news, the road may still be blocked.
