A woman in her 80s was in hospital today after a crash between a car and a sugar beet harvester on a country road in Suffolk.
A silver Honda Jazz was involved in a collision with the lorry on the B1083 between Shottisham and Sutton Hoo at around 6.30am.
The driver of the Honda – a woman in her 80s – suffered injuries not thought to be life-threatening and was taken to Ipswich Hospital, police and ambulance spokesmen said.
Local diversions were set up to allow recovery of the car. A section of the road was closed in both directions before re-opening shortly before 9am.
No arrests were made.
