FIREFIGHTERS have battled a blaze which took hold of the first floor and roof of a large detached house.
Seven fire crews attended the fire in Brewers End, Takeley, Essex, which took out at 3.15am this morning.
Using four main jets, two hose reel jets and an aerial ladder platform, the brigade was able to bring the flames under control.
The fire was put out by 6.50am, but crews remain on scene ensuring their are no further hot spots.
A full investigation is to be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
