A TEACHER has been found guilty today of a “passionate” kiss with a student.
Stuart Barley, 45, who is married with two children, followed the pupil to her room following a fancy dress party where sixth-formers were allowed to drink alcohol, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
The girl said Barley, a Suffolk boarding school teacher, then kissed her.
Another schoolgirl said she witnessed the embrace.
Barley was found guilty, by a majority of 10 to two, of an offence of sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust. He was cleared of a second sexual offence against the same girl.
Judge Peter De Mille told Barley he was likely to receive a community sentence at a hearing at a later date.
