GREAT Britain Speedway boss Rob Lyon has unveiled the five riders to represent the nation at the FIM Speedway World Cup later this month.

And former British Grand Prix star Scott Nicholls has won his place back in the team to face Australia, Sweden and Finland at King’s Lynn on Monday, July 26.

He’s joined by Swindon’s in-form star Simon Stead who also gets a recall after sitting out last year’s tournament.

Chris Harris, Lee Richardson and Tai Woffinden are the other three riders selected by Lyon, who insists his team will be gunning for victory on the night and an automatic spot in the World Cup Final in Denmark.

“We are going for it at King’s Lynn, make no mistake about that,” said Lyon. “I’ve picked form riders in Scotty and Simon and it’s great to have them back on board.

“Now we need the backing of the fans to come along to the Norfolk Arena and support us on the night. We want to avoid finishing second or third because that would mean the race-off.”
