A 14-year-old charged with arson following a devastating blaze at a middle school appeared in court today.
The teenager, who was up at Bury St Edmunds magistrates' court yesterday, was accompanied by his parents. He cannot be identified because of his age.
He is charged with deliberately starting the fire on August 5, which destroyed St Felix Middle School in Newmarket. The teenager also faces a charge of breaching an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) curfew in Newmarket on April 16.
Magistrates repeated an order made by Ipswich Youth Court on August 12 for the teenager to remain in a secure home until the next hearing in Bury on August 27.
