POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was dragged into a van and driven off.
A member of the public called police at about 9.10pm last night after he spotted a man dragging a girl into a van on Bucklesham Road near to the St Augustine's roundabout.
Officers were sent to the area and stopped a vehicle on the A14 westbound just prior to the Seven Hills interchange (junction 58).
The 15-year-old girl was found and a 26-year-old male from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and failing to provide a breath test. He remains in custody at Ipswich police station waiting questioning.
The girl sustained bruising from the incident and has been left extremely shaken.
Police are urging anyone who may have information or who saw a red Vauxhall car-type van in the Lindbergh Road and Bucklesham Road area at around the time of the incident to call Ipswich CID on 01473 613500.
