Orcs from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit descended on the Anglo-Saxon site at West Stow for Dark Age-style combat training at the weekend.
Fans of the JRR Tolkien works visited in costume for the attraction, Ring Quest, at the ‘first English village’ and its surrounding 125-acre country park.
Organisers want the site to be a destination for fans of the books and films – with Middle Earth-themed events running until Sunday.
People can find clues relating to the films, solve riddles and learn how the productions are connected with the Anglo-Saxon period.
Ancient battle techniques which could have been used in the films were also re-enacted at the weekend.
