Police are appealing for information after thieves targeted the exhaust systems of three cars in Newmarket.
The thefts took place between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
The first incident took place in Carson Walk, where the catalytic converter of a Citroen C4 was stolen.
In Lester Piggot Way, thieves targeted the middle silencer of the exhaust system of a Ford Focus and the silencer of a Citroen C4 parked in Doug Smith Close was also stolen.
A police spokesman said the final two thefts were believed to have been failed attempts to remove the catalytic converters.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in any of these streets should contact PC Paul Osmond on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
