Latitude Festival, July 12 - July 15, Henham Park, near Southwold
The Suffolk family festival will take place this weekend at Henham Park. The headlining acts are the Killers, Solange, alt-J, other musical talents attending are The Vaccines, Wolf Alice, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Jessie Ware and lots more. In the comedy line-up is Harry Hill, QI Live, Bridget Christie, Alan Davies, Joel Dommett and many others. The festival is packed with things to do for people of all ages from theatre, swimming in the lake, kids zones and so much more. The food line-up is one not to miss too there is so much to choose from with Black Bear Burgers, Baked in Brick, HotBox, Love Churros, Happy Maki all attending as well as other delicious food companies. The Latitude 2018 App is now available for download this shows you the full line-up and a map of the venue. Weekend tickets are still available as well as day tickets for Friday and Sunday.
Fit East, Trinity Park, July 14
A brand-new fitness festival is coming to Trinity Park this weekend. Take your family along for an enjoyable energetic day which will feature four arenas all packed with exciting events and classes. Most of the classes are open to children of all ages and Gorilla kids will be running classes for six to 12-year-olds. There will be opportunities to be put through your paces by the Army Reserves, enjoy a dancercise class or CrossFit. Make sure you check out the unusual Goat Yoga session with Diana Malone, you will have goats with you throughout the session, sometimes the goats climb on participants this is good for your core strength. It will be a fun and action-packed day out for the whole family, regardless of age or ability, with plenty of opportunities to learn about fitness, nutrition and health, get advice on running shoes as well as having a go at adrenaline-pumping exercise classes to see what takes your fancy. Film on a farm at Kenton Hall Estate, July 13 and 14, Kenton Hall Estate, Stowmarket
This weekend you can watch two great films in the great setting of Kenton Hall Estate. It will be an outdoor cinema so get your deck chairs and blankets ready. On Friday night The original Italian Job will be shown this film is a flashy, fast romp that chases a team of career criminals throughout one of the biggest international gold heists in history. On Saturday the iconic Four weddings and a funeral will be on, the film is a romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell. There will be lots of delicious food for you to snack on while you watch the films including beef burgers, pizza, popcorn and ice cream. Brass on the Grass, July 14, The Old Rectory gardens, Bredfield
Pack a picnic and enjoy the wonderful sounds of the East of England Co-op Band. Taking place in the gardens of the Old Rectory in Bredfield this weekend is Brass on the Grass an evening of music supplied by the Co-op Band and the Riverside 100 Musical Theatre Choir. The gates open at 6.30pm and you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy whilst being entertained by music of all genres. There is ample parking available adjacent to the gardens. Kast Off Kinks, Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe, July 13
If you’re a fan of legendary band The Kinks, start the weekend in style with a great line-up featuring former members. This line-up features former band members Mick Avory, the original drummer from 1964-84, John Dalton, and Ian Gibbons, with Dave Clarke on guitar and vocals (formerly of the Beach Boys, Noel Redding and Tim Rose). They’ll be performing hits including You Really Got Me, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Sunny Afternoon, Lola and many more, The concert starts at 7.30pm.
Race for Life, Lower Castle Park, Colchester, July 15
Colchester Race for Life will bring thousands of women together to support Cancer Research UK’s life-saving research. Just by signing up you’ll make a difference and whether you raise £10 or £200, every penny matters. Race for Life 5k is great for all ages. Run, jog or walk; the only thing that matters is that you’re part of it. Whether you do it in a tutu or just an old pink t-shirt.
