THREE men have been charged this evening with the rape of an 18-year-old woman.
The attack took place inside a house in Salamanca Way in Colchester in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A few hours after the attack three men from the town were arrested by police at the house. Essex Police tonight charged the men with rape.
Daniel Guy, a 26-year-old Drayman, and unemployed Lee Stephens, 24, were both charged with two counts of rape while James Minors, a 25-year-old building surveyor, was charged with one count of rape.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “The attack happened when an 18-year-old woman from the Colchester area was sexually assaulted inside a house on Salamanca Way in the town in the early hours of Sunday January 18.
“A few hours later, three men from Colchester were arrested inside the house and subsequently charged with various offences.”
All three men are being held in police custody and will appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
