CITY commuters faced a tight squeeze onboard rush hour trains this morning.

National Express East Anglia reduced the number of carriages on trains travelling between Norwich and Liverpool Street following operating problems.

A diesel engine break-down meant carriages from Great Yarmouth were unable to meet carriages from Lowestoft and form a complete train in Norwich.

A spokesman for National Express said the problem had not caused any delays and that longer trains were due to follow shortly after those affected by the break-down.
