IPSWICH'S town centre has now reopened following a bomb scare.
Superintendent Alan Caton, who oversaw the operation, said the incident is now over and the police cordon was lifted just after 12.15pm.
The shops were closed for two hours while the bomb disposal squad dealt with the operation.
It is believed the suspect package was actually a bag of clothes.
