The A120 outside of Colchester has reopened in both directions following a serious collision.
The crash happened between Braintree and Marks Tey before 4pm Friday, August 13.
Officers from Essex Police were called to the scene and urged motorists to plan their journey ahead.
The road remained closed for more than five hours while police carried out investigative work, before it was reopened shortly after 9pm.
The conditions of the motorists have not yet been confirmed.
The road closure came as traffic built up on the A14 outside of Ipswich following a collision between a motorcycle and lorry.
