A motorist has been taken to hospital after a four-vehicle collision on the A14 outside of Ipswich.

Queues started to form on the eastbound carriageway at Sproguhton after emergency services were called to a collision.

A spokesman for Suffolk police confirmed a Ford Fiesta, a Ford Transit van, a Hyundai i10 and a DAF vehicle had collided.

One person was taken to hospital after the incident, the spokesman added.

The AA traffic map suggested motorists formed queues as far back as Claydon, with delays of about 11 minutes.
