A MOTORCYCLIST who was killed in a road collision in Colchester was today named as Sergeant Philip Train.
The 34-year-old, of Thaxted Walk, Colchester, died when his bike was in collision with a minibus in Roman Way.
Sgt Train had been riding an Aprilia RSV motorbike when the accident happened at around 8.35am on Friday, just hours before hundreds of soldiers from the Colchester-Based 16 Air Assault Brigade marched through the town celebrating their Freedom of the Borough.
The driver of the minibus involved in the collision has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is currently on police bail until September.
Sgt Train's wife, Stacy, described her husband as “kind, generous and warm”.
