Rail commuters face a morning of disruption due to a signalling fault between Norwich and Stowmarket. Bus replacement services are being put in place and disruption is expected to last until lunchtime.

Some lines are blocked due to the problem, train operator Greater Anglia said. At least four services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street have been cancelled - listed below.

Services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised until midday.

A Greater Anglia spokesman said in a statement: “Due to a loss of signalling in the Lakenham area, train services are currently unable to run between Norwich and Diss.

“Network Rail are working as quickly and safely as possible to resolve the fault.

“Customers from Norwich can travel from Norwich to Cambridge and change at Cambridge for Greater Anglia services to Liverpool Street.

“Rail replacement buses are now on route to Norwich ETA 08.00 to operate between Norwich and Stowmarket/Ipswich.

“East Midlands are accepting Greater Anglia tickets.

“Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption.”
