FIREFIGHTERS have helped to free two horses that had fallen into a river.
The horses ended up in the River Chelmer in Chelmer Village, near Chelmsford, at about 6.25am this morning.
One crew from the town’s fire station and another from Colchester attended the incident and firefighters using strops managed to help the animals to get out.
Representatives from the RSPCA were also at the scene to ensure the horses were not injured.
