A body has been found in the search for a missing woman from Colchester.
Aleasha Coan, 37, was last seen at her home in Elmstead Road in the town at 4.15pm on Sunday.
She was described as “very vulnerable” as she had left without her regular medication.
A number of her friends and volunteers carried out a search of the nearby University of Essex campus this morning, in a bid to help Essex Police in their efforts to find Aleasha.
The overall search was suspended after a body was found on land near the university at 1.25pm today.
Superintendent Steve Ditchburn, who was co-ordinating the searches, said: “The body is yet to be formally identified but Aleasha’s family have been updated and our search suspended.
“We are extremely grateful for the support and efforts of members of the public in connection with the searches for Aleasha.”
Police will now be liaising with the coroner.
The body find is not being treated as suspicious.
