A MAN has driven into an electricity pole causing cables to come loose.
Police were called to Malting End in Wickhambrook, at 4.25pm.
Sparks have been reported coming from the pole.
A force spokesman said: “The vehicle was a red Fiat Punto. Cables are now hanging loose and the Electricity Board has been called. The man has reported some chest and leg bruising.”
An ambulance was called for to treat the man.
The road is currently closed in both directions near the Mill Road junction.
Engineers from EDF are currently on their way to the incident.
