A motorcyclist who died in hospital following a collision with a tractor in Suffolk has been named by police.
Gheorghe Titiriga died following the crash on the A134 at Barnham, near Thetford, which took place at around 12.30pm yesterday.
The 44-year-old, of Thetford, was taken by land ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
On Sunday, police confirmed he died at the hospital on Saturday night.
His immediate next of kin have been informed.
He suffered head and chest injuries in the collision.
Paramedics from the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which also attended the incident, travelled with Mr Titiriga to the hospital in the ambulance as an attempt was made to save his life.
It is believed the tractor involved in the collision was from a local farm. The driver was uninjured.
Asked whether any action was taken over the tractor driver, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “As is standard procedure when we have a fatal road traffic collision, it will be the subject of an investigation by our Serious Collision Investigation Team.”
Following the crash, the road was blocked in both directions before re-opening at around 5.30pm. Diversions were in operation at Rhymer Point and Barnham.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward. Call 101.
