Update: Police in Sudbury searching for Lee Hill find body in river

POLICE in Sudbury searching for missing man Lee Hill have found a body in the River Stour.

The body was found at just before 8pm on Friday evening in the river off Ballingdon Street by a member of the public who called police.

A spokesman said: “The body was removed from the water with the assistance of the fire service, and whilst formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of 36-year-old Lee Hill from Sudbury, who was last seen on the evening of Sunday August 5.”

The spokesman said a post mortem examination will take place in due course but the death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner will be informed.
