POLICE have today named a motorcyclist who died in a crash on the Suffolk/Essex border.
Father-of-two Derek Foster, 37, was killed after his red Honda CBR 125 motorbike collided with a grey Ford Focus on the B1054 between Boytons Lane and Water Lane in Hempstead near Haverhill.
The collision happened just before 7.20am yesterday and Mr Foster, from Saffron Walden, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A section of the road was closed for seven hours while forensic collision investigators carried out their enquiries and debris was cleared from the road.
A 29-year-old man, from Haverhill, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been released on police bail until August 22 pending further enquiries.
Any witnesses are asked to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 101.
