FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a blaze in a restaurant in Aldeburgh.
Eight fire crews are at Market Restaurant, in High Street, following reports of smoke coming from a property in the street at 10.30am.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk County Council said although the fire has now been put out, part of the roof at the back of the building has collapsed.
Crews wearing four sets of breathing apparatus are tackling a blaze in the first floor of the building using two hose reel jets.
Initially two crews were sent to the scene, but on arrival firefighters requested further assistance and more appliances were sent.
Fire appliances from Orford, Halesworth, Woodbridge, the command unit also from Woodbridge and the turntable ladder from Ipswich East were sent to the incident.
Crews reported a building blaze in the ground, the first floor and roof space.
A thermal imaging camera is also in use to check for further hot spots.
