Hundreds of people across the county put themselves through their paces today as they raced for Sport Relief.

Runners chose from one mile, three mile or six mile routes, as they took to the streets of Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds to raise money

All ages, from young children to grandparents, took part in the Sport Relief fundraiser with some donning fancy dress costumes.

In Ipswich, the run was started from the Cornhill by Ipswich mayor Hamil Clarke.

While in Bury St Edmunds, national young race walker Callum Wilkinson started the Sport Relief mile at West Suffolk Athletics Arena with around 380 people taking part.

More than £51million was raised for charity during the live Sport Relief television show - a total which eclipsed the previous on-the-night record.

David Beckham, Kylie Minogue, Sir David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Sebastian Coe were among the sports stars and celebrities who took part in Friday night’s BBC show.
