WARNINGS of heavy rain could not stop thousands of people lining the streets of Ipswich this morning as the Olympic torch made its way through the town.
There was a carnival atmosphere at Christchurch Mansion with a brass band performing as the procession made its way from the park to the town centre.
Specially selected torchbearers took the torch from the park and through the town centre before the relay ended in West End Road.
The torch has now left Ipswich and is expected to reach Colchester today.
