Police investigating the murder of University of Essex student Nahid Almanea are continuing to carry out inquiries in the area in Colchester where her body was discovered one week ago.
Detectives have set up checkpoints asking people if they were in the Salary Brook Trail area on Tuesday morning and have also been speaking to cyclists and pedestrians.
Leaflets and posters have been produced which have appeals for information on. These have also be translated into Arabic.
Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Worron said: “People living and working in the local area are the keys to helping us find whoever killed this bright, young woman who was a guest in our country. The answers lie in the local community and we will find whoever did this.”
“So far the support we have had from the public has been great. Every time we issue an appeal we have a surge of information coming through into our incident room. We have had some new information to give to you today and I really hope the local community can help us again.”
Police would also like to speak to a man identified as walking behind two woman at about 8.45am on June 13. Witness believe one of those women could have been Nahid, a Saudi Arabian national.
The man was seen following them as they came out of a house in Stanley Wooster Way, Colchester.
He is described as white, in his 30s, around 5ft 10ins, with short, dark hair. He was dressed casually and was wearing dark jeans. He is also had a Colchester accent.
